A celebration of Tasmanian bird-life from Wild Island artists. From the diminutive to the bold, from the flightless, to the aeronauts of the sky. Imagining a world without birds is a devastating idea, however, roughly 1.4% of known bird species are now extinct and about one in eight (12.8%) are currently threatened with global extinction. Driven primarily by human activities like habitat loss, around 1,400 species have been lost in modern history. Experts warn that without intervention, one-third of bird species could vanish by 2100. (BirdLife International)
