Tasmania’s east coast is typically known for sunshine and mild weather but is periodically subject to easterly storms with potentially flooding rain, big seas and high winds. As with any coast, sand comes and goes – at other times the granite boulder-field in the foreground is at least partially a beach! Lichen, including the distinctive red lichen of Tasmanian granite coastlines, coats the exposed rocks.
