These Tasmanian Christmas Bells were discovered in flower in South Bruny National Park, just a few short months after bushfires had raged through the area and left plant life blackened.
Usually the strappy leaves of this plant have a rather scraggy and rough, worn and torn appearance. However, appearing shortly after the fire and before the wild weather had a chance to tear at them, these were in amazing and almost perfect condition - a rare and wonderful sight.

Sylvie Gerozisis is a Tasmanian Botanical Artist, whose work also extends to Tasmanian wildlife subjects and landscapes.
She studied Fine Arts at Sydney University and Botanical Illustration at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, and has taught Visual Art as well as Design and Technology.
Sylvie works almost exclusively in watercolour, and her artwork often incorporates distinctive elements of pattern and design, which relate strongly to the particular subject.
She has exhibited widely over the years and her artwork is held in private collections throughout Australia.
The artwork is printed on 100% cotton rag archival paper. All prints have been personally checked and hand signed by the artist.
