This plant was observed in the South Bruny National Park some months after bushfires had raged through the area. It grows as a tussock and obviously seems to enjoy being revived by fire, as the specimen was extremely lush and vigorous, as were the others around it.
Tasmanian Christmas Bells are particularly abundant in the southern reaches of Bruny Island, where this spectacular red flowered lily often lights up whole hillsides at Christmas when it flowers.
