The view of Fluted Cape on Bruny Island depicted in this artwork, is from across the D’Entrecasteaux Channel at Woodbridge; a small rural village, originally named Peppermint Bay after an endemic and dominant species of Eucalypt. This was the White Peppermint (Eucalyptus pulchella), which has been featured in the foreground of this work.
