Local Tasmanian artist Laura E. Kennedy predominantly makes coloured pencil drawings of birds. Inspired by her picture framing background, she extends the subject's extremities on laser-cut panels into the surrounding ornate frame. Each frame also features 3D printed ornaments that she has designed, commissioned and assembled.
A graduate of Sydney College of the Arts, she has held 3 successful solo exhibitions & has been invited to participate in group exhibitions at a New York commercial gallery as well as an Australian regional gallery. In 2018 she won the inaugural $20K Henry Jones Art Prize and has been a finalist in numerous prestigious Art Awards.
