About the Artist:
‘I am continually inspired by the wild and raw beauty that Tasmania is unique for. From our own beautiful mountain kunanyi, to the southwest wilderness, unspoilt ocean, grasslands and forests. As a child I spent nearly every holiday in the highlands of Scotland which is where my love for wild elemental scenery began.’ ~ Georgina Richmond
Georgina has been painting in oils since she was 14. In 1986 she gained a BA Hons. in Fine Art at the Gloucestershire College of Arts in the UK. The artist arrived in Tasmania in 1987 and quickly fell in love with the wild and raw beauty of the island. She has had numerous solo shows and twice been a finalist of the John Glover Art Prize.
