Tasmanian-based artist Fiona Verdouw combines her love of wilderness and nature to create oil paintings based upon her experiences in landscapes.
Rather than documenting grand landmarks and destinations, her work focuses on what is discovered along the way: Views through trees, peeling bark, misty mountain-tops and fallen leaves.
Embracing Tasmania’s unique colour palette, Fiona emphasises shapes found within landscapes to simplify scenes and describe moments in places that her audience can connect with.
Fiona’s work has been shown in art prizes, exhibitions and galleries throughout Australia, andhas attracted collectors across the country and overseas.
