Tea Tree / Manuka  (132 Methylglyoxal mg/kg ) Honey – 325g

Miellerie Honey

Tea Tree honey, also known as 'Manuka', contains an active component called Methylglyoxal, and contains higher than average natural antibiotic qualities. Each batch of tea tree honey shows a methylglyoxal rating (mg/kg). Tea Tree honey is also rarer to source, and more difficult to extract from the hive, therefore it's production is much more labor-intensive.

Miellerie’s Tea Tree Honey is sourced from the endemic trees lanigerum and scoparium, of the family of Leptospermum, or Tea -Tree within the world heritage wilderness of South West Tasmania where the upper Huon River and Manuka Creek rivers flow. This is an extraordinary landscape which gives this honey its vitality. The honey has an amber colour with a distinct and pronounced taste, characteristic of his flavour with a remarkable thick texture of soft, fine crystals, rich in natural antibiotics.

Miellerie honey is unprocessed and unheated, thus maintaining the honey's optimum natural aroma, health qualities, and characteristic crystals. Each of the honeys in the Miellerie range are crystallised, with a smooth, velvety texture that melts in your mouth!

Miellerie means "the house of honey" in French. Yves Ginat began keeping bees as a young boy in France and brought his techniques with him to Tasmania. The subtle marriage of French tradition and Tasmanian flowers, gave birth to his business, Miellerie Honey.
