In From the Shallows, I explore the shifting energy of tidal movement, transitioning from the vibrancy of shallow waters to the quiet, mysterious depths. I use layered encaustic wax to capture the surface energy and the dark unseen currents beneath. The tactile nature of wax allows me to replicate the fluidity and transience of the tides from a shallow shore to the depths below.
