About the Artist
For as long as Hayley can remember she has loved making things with her hands. As a child she had a natural gift for creativity and art. Hayley's grandmother was also artistic and with her creative guidance and nurturing taught Hayley early on, often sketching together.
Hayley received no formal artistic training, rather most of the skills and techniques she uses in her stunning pencil drawings is self-taught - through the reading of books and through practice, trial and error. She uses Prismacolor pencils primarily along with Faber Castell Polychromos and builds layer upon layer to achieve realistic depth in her drawings.
It is the vibrant colours and detail in nature that inspire her choice of subject.
