The extensive wetlands and sand-flats of Pilitika / Robbins Passage are exposed at low tide. With a tidal difference approaching 2m the passage is swept by powerful currents twice daily. A 1.8km causeway and bridge is proposed at this site, impacting tidal ecology and risking the Tasmanian devil disease-free status of the island.

Rob Blakers has photographed in the wild places of Tasmania for over 40 years. His interests lie in landscape, environmental conservation and the evolution of photographic methods and values in the age of digital technology.
