Ruth Langford & Martin Hawes Country and wilderness, indigenous and experiential perspectives
Combining over twenty years travelling the world sitting with Indigenous Elders, Senior Knowledge Keepers and World Wisdom Teachers with conscious research, Ruth Langford’s vision is to connect people to the ancient wisdom of Indigenous teachings in a contemporary and relevant context, through the expression of cultural arts, ceremony and ritual.
Martin Hawes has spent 50 years exploring wilderness (mostly in Tasmania) and its significance, and is the author of several books on photography, wilderness and philosophy.
Ruth will bring a light to the Indigenous understanding of Country and human culture. Martin will talk about the Earth’s inherent intelligence, and how wilderness can expose us to levels of understanding that are inaccessible to ‘normal’ consciousness.
Between the two perspectives will be a fascinating exploration of culture and our place in nature.
All are welcome - questions and discussion will be an integral part of each presentation.
