Barn Bluff is a dramatic peak in the Cradle Mountain/Lake St. Clair National Park. It rises to a height of 1559m, just 14m short of the nearby Cradle Mountain. On it’s slopes grows the tough yet beautiful Richea scoparia. This alpine plant, while incredibly scratchy and difficult to walk through, displays spectacular white, pink and red candle-like flowers from September to October. Scoparia are iconic of Tasmania’s west coast, alpine and subalpine regions.
