Sunday 23 June - Australian Native Botanicals Painting Workshop

Native Botanicals Painting Workshop with Averill Lawler

Taking inspiration from a beautiful selection of locally grown, seasonal flowers join Averill to learn how to draw from life to create a flower painting in ink, pencil and gouache paint. No experience is necessary. Whether you are a beginner, trying to reignite your creative practice, or want to master a new skill, this workshop will be perfect for you.

Averill grew up on the shores of the Derwent Estuary at Opossum Bay where rock-pools glisten and molluscs cluster. She has long been fascinated by the changing rhythms of the sea and her paintings capture the wild Tasmanian Coast with its fleeting light, wheeling weather fronts and southern swells.

$80 per person. All art materials, flowers and tuition provided
Sunday 23 June, 10.30am - 1pm @ Wild Island Gallery, 8/33 Salamanca Place Hobart
