Beneath My Feet is my third solo exhibition at Wild Island and I have continued to focus on places I can walk to and collect the images used in my prints. In this latest exhibition I have added some manmade objects to add to the complexity and texture of my prints.
I have concentrated on kunanyi, Mt Field and the beautiful Hobart Rivulet Track that links the city to the foothills of kunanyi. All three areas are full of textures, history and beautiful colours – histories that must be remembered and respected, and places that must be conserved for future generations.
The tools of my trade are few – an iPhone, an elderly Macbook, patience and creativity. The satisfaction I get from collecting photographs for my prints and exploring ways to represent the places I have seen and touched is fulfilling and I thank my husband Jim for his support.
