REFLECTING ON NATURE

Georgina Richmond

02 - 28 APRIL 2024

This exhibition is about how deeply I am inspired by the ever changing light in Tasmania. We are surrounded by nature, from the rolling plains of the Midlands to the Wilderness of the ocean, mountains and dense forests. The variety is endless and I find myself unable to just paint on one theme.

I have always loved painting the natural world and living in Tasmania has given me the opportunity to really experience that.

Georgina Richmond has been painting in oils since she was 14. Coming from an artistic family, she was always encouraged to create art. In 1986 she gained a B.A Hons in Fine Art at the Gloucester College of the Arts in the U.K. She arrived in Tasmania in 1987 and quickly fell in love with the wild and raw beauty of the Island. She has had numerous solo shows and has been a finalist for the John Glover Art prize twice. This exhibition is a showcase of her love of Tasmania's Wilderness.
